A new waterfall has become the world’s first to boast its waterfalls.
Key points:Pomona’s waterfall is home to some of the world ‘greatest’ waterfallsA unique ‘water sculpture’ has been unveiled at the gorge’s iconic Poconos WaterfallThe Poconoshie Waterfall in Northern Queensland is famous for its waterfall, which is one of the longest in the world.
Pomondo’s water-filled waterfalls are renowned for its steep cliffs and incredible waterfalls that rise to over a metre high.
“It’s really a wonderful water sculpture and I think it’s going to be a great attraction for tourists,” Pomeroy Gorge Provincial Park Manager, Ben Farrar, told ABC Radio Brisbane.
The water sculptures have a range of designs including a single waterfall that is up to three metres high.
The original Pocono Waterfall is in the town of Pore, about 80 kilometres (50 miles) south-west of Brisbane.
“When we first got the idea of having the waterfalls come to life we wanted to create a water sculpture,” Mr Farrars said.
“We thought it would be a wonderful thing to create an outdoor water attraction, where you can walk up to the falls and you can see the water sculpture.”
He said it would have been “a fantastic idea” to have the water sculptures at the entrance to the park, but that the park wanted to give it a new name, The Pocoos Waterfalls.
Mr Farras said the original water sculptures were meant to be temporary and would be removed by the end of 2019.
“Once the water has dried and they’ve got their waterfalls back up and ready, they can be used again for the same purpose,” he said.
Ponos Waterworks, which will host the opening ceremony of the Pocooses Waterfall on Saturday, is an 18-hole golf course that is one the world “greatest” waterfalls in terms of waterfalls and other features.
“This is one you would never expect to see in Australia,” Mr Rafferty said.
“It’s the most stunning thing in the park and I can’t think of a better way to mark this.”
The park’s tourism manager, Nick Rafferry, said it was “a real thrill to have our new water sculptures be so well received”.
“It is a special opportunity to have a water collection event that we hope will generate a lot of interest,” he told ABC News.
“People are really looking forward to seeing this, which we’re really proud of.”
